In the real world, transport companies ship what they have orders for, its not up to the transporter to decide how much they will ship its decided by the factory which is dependant on orders for its goods.

I really wish there was a smart AI mod or a contracts mod. The frustration comes in when you are trying to simulate real world systems and logistics and the AI is retarded and cuts off its nose to spite its face. The game is as easy as can be and you can make billions by the turn of the century and never look back. The game needs contracts added to it or for a way the stupid AI can figure out how the real world works. If the game had one simple thing added it would be more of a sim rather than just a game. You can not set up real world transportation and delivery. It's literally retarded ( yes retarded) in the way the AI works. It's so frustrating and unrealistic how this game does supply and demand. I see it as a easy way to simplify factory products and city supplies. Once the job is done you get paid and it is over and you have to find another contract. Freight Tycoon does contracts and it is pretty fun, but the contracts are all one offs. Especially if they are ongoing contracts.
